My name is Mathis Touret, and I am a European-trained Osteopath with a holistic, patient-centered approach to care. Here in the US it's called Osteopathic Manual Therapist. My work is based on the belief that the body has an innate ability to self-regulate and heal when its systems are balanced and free to move.
Through extensive training in:
I help patients reconnect with their body, reduce pain, and restore long-term function.
I don’t treat diagnoses, I treat people.
Each body tells a story. Pain is often the result of compensation, tension, or imbalance elsewhere in the system.
By listening carefully and working gently, we allow the body to reorganize itself rather than forcing change.

I’m originally from Lyon, France.
I received my degree in European osteopathy from the Superior Institute of Osteopathy, ISOstéo Lyon.
During my five years of study, I worked at the ISOstéo clinics throughout Lyon, treating adults and children under the supervision of my experienced professors. Due to my personal practice of Muay Thai, boxing, and MMA, I also worked with professional athletes competing in these martial arts. I met with the athletes periodically for osteopathic sessions to help them prevent injuries and achieve their goals. My senior thesis specifically focused on how osteopathy could help kidney mobility and the body’s overall performance in professional boxers and MMA fighters who use weight cutting in their routines before fights.
After I completed my studies and clinical experience in Lyon, my desire for taking care of people and helping them improve their health led me to open my own private practice in the French Alps. In my office I had the opportunity to work with a diverse population of all ages and professions. My office was well-received by the community, and thousands of people trusted my work to help them heal and improve their quality of life.

In the Alps, I was located close to a large French military base where I collaborated with military doctors to treat the soldiers. I also partnered with large companies to come on-site and treat their CEOs and employees at the office to improve employee wellness and increase overall productivity.
The French Alps are a playground for long-distance runners, and I had athletes of all levels coming to my office to get ready for marathons, trail competitions, and well-known competitions such as the UTMB at Mont-Blanc Chamonix. I would make special trips up to Lyon to treat runners on race days in the city as well.

In France I collaborated with a variety of other specialists including doctors, physical therapists, sophrologists, nutritionists, podiatrists, psychologists, dentists, and naturopaths who referred their patients to my office as part of their holistic treatment.
Although it was hard to leave my practice in France, I have come to New York City to be with my wife, and I am looking forward to bringing European osteopathic influences into holistic treatment for New Yorkers.
